Helping others achieve their financial goals is practically in Samantha’s DNA. A 5th generation financial advisor, Sam learned the craft from her father and business partner, George G. Sennett. Partnering with small business owners, families growing their assets and individuals approaching or thriving in retirement, Sam has come to deeply value and appreciate the lifelong bonds that have formed as she and her clients have tied their financial growth and success together. When asked what she enjoys most about financial planning, Sam explains, “while clients may have similar goals such as retiring comfortably without outliving their assets or consciously developing a plan to save for a child’s higher education, each solution is as unique and varied as each client’s personality, family and background – I have so much respect and admiration for my amazing clients! I deeply value the trust that develops from getting to know my clients and their families on a personal level.”
Sam brings over 22 years of experience and expertise in the areas of employee benefits, estate planning, and financial planning to the group. “I am thrilled to join the intelligent, forward thinking and supportive AmeriFlex® team and re-dedicate myself to the service of clients! As with investing, diversification is a key factor in positioning oneself for potential success and growth. By partnering and collaborating with the focused, mindful and strategic experts that comprise the AmeriFlex® team, both new and old clients will undoubtedly benefit tremendously from the diversity of best ideas generated by our team of dedicated professionals!”
A graduate of UC Davis, Ms. Sennett obtained her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. Through the UC Santa Barbara Extension Program, she went on to obtain her CFP® CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional designation in 2004. Sam holds the Series 6 and 63 FINRA securities licenses in addition to her California Life and Health Insurance License.
Birthplace: I was born in the Bay Area, and grew up in San Mateo, California, but I have lived on The Mesa for over 16 years and consider Santa Barbara home.
Favorite childhood memory: Laughing with my parents and two sisters at our inside jokes across the dinner table, spending time with extended family on our friend’s farm in Wichita, Kansas and at my grandparents’ retirement beachfront home on Shelter Island, New York. A foul ball that plopped right into my serving of garlic fries at the Giants baseball game (okay, I’m still waiting for that one to happen) but my folks have had season tickets since I was in junior high!
Hobbies: I’m sporty. I was named the 1990 Girls Athlete of the Year at Aragon High School for four years lettering in three sports; volleyball, soccer and softball. I now enjoy running, yoga and classes at the gym. You name a sport, I’ve played it; from tennis, basketball, swimming, track – even inner tube water polo! One morning I’m coaching (read: assistant coaching) my daughter’s soccer and/or softball team, the next I’m high-fiving teammates on my own fun-loving coed soccer team.
Passions: Connection is everything to me. Whether it’s attending the Broadway Series shows in the front row of the Loge at the Granada Theater every season with my daughter, camping, hiking and backpacking all over our beautiful state of California, ziplining with my daughter on Catalina Island or drinking margaritas with my mom every year on her birthday (confession: we eat burgers and go to the movies sometimes, too), I do my best to stay present and cherish the little moments.
Family Life: Helping to guide the development of my wonderful, loving, 13-year-old daughter into a confident, amazing young woman. Watching my Labrador/Golden retriever mix, Charlie, chasing his “chuck-it ball” and splashing amongst the waves at the bottom of Shoreline Park.
